SmarterMeasure assesses both internal and external factors affecting student success, including life factors such as time, dedicated space to study, reasons for continuing education, and a student's support system. SmarterMeasure also evaluates traits like procrastination, time management, persistence, and willingness to ask for help. Additional attributes measured are learning styles, on-screen reading and recall, technical skills, typing speed, and basic math and writing skills. This holistic approach helps institutions understand the key influences on a student's readiness for academic success.

Within the SmarterMeasure admin dashboard, institutions can filter data by specific student groups or descriptive analytics to identify trends and areas for targeted support. The platform also provides data export options and integrates with other systems, making it easy to analyze and track student readiness and progress over time.

The only information collected includes students’ scores on the assessment, name, and email. The school may choose to ask demographic questions such as age range, gender, ethnicity, first-generation, and the number of online courses that the student has taken.

SmarterMeasure is mobile-friendly, allowing students to complete the assessment on their smartphones or tablets. However, for the best results, we recommend that students complete the typing section using a keyboard instead of their phone to ensure more accurate measurement of typing speed and accuracy.
